James Warren "Jim" Pannell

James Warren "Jim" Pannell passed away at the age of 75 on October 12, 2022 at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born on April 3, 1947 to James Ellis Pannell and Doris "Brown" Pannell in Lexington, MS. He was in the U.S. Marine Corp., received a Journalism degree from UCLA, received his Juris Doctor at Ole Miss and worked as an Attorney at Law for over 30 years. Jim is survived by his wife: Carolyn Stroupe Pannell of Tupelo, MS; two sons: James D. "Jamie" Pannell of San Francisco, CA, Warren A. Pannell of Blue Springs, MS; one daughter: Amanda E. Pannell of Olive Branch, MS; one daughter-in-law: Angeles Pannell of Tupelo, MS; three step-daughters: Tren Depoy (Bill) of Hillsboro, TX, Nan Anderson of Pontotoc, MS, Melanie Bast (Mike) of Hernando, MS; two step-sons: Will Sorrels (Jennifer) of Lavon, TX, Sam Sorrels of Tupelo, MS; one brother: Bob Pannell (Carol) of Tallahassee, FL; one sister: Sherri Brye Harper (Bruce) of Key West, FL; two step-sons-in-law: Lino Chue of San Francisco, CA, William Anderson of Pontotoc, MS; one sister-in-law: Shelia Johnson of Jumpertown, MS; three grandchildren: Kaiden O'Bannon, Leanne Pannell, Arthur James "A.J." Pannell; step-grandchildren: Kathryn Manus (Clint), Kindall Bast, Kimberly Dawson (Jeremy), Emma Burnett (Edward), Alex Sorrels Foley, Billy Sorrels (Mikayla), Landon Sorrels, Will Anderson (Lanie), Sarah Washington (Justin), Hannah Harris (Tyler), Audrey Depoy, Caleb Depoy, Talley Flowers, Madison Depoy (Charles), Liam Flowers, Rafe Flowers, Colton Depoy, Zeva Sorrels; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and the mother of his children: Leanne Mae Green Pannell; one daughter: Jennifer Callahan; his step-son: Josh Sorrels; one step-son-in-law: Jeff Flowers; one brother-in-law: Johnny Johnson.
