EJ Murley passed away on February 17, 2022 at the age of 100 at his daughter's home in Olive Branch, MS. He was born February 10, 1922 to Robert Hamilton Murley and Nina Mae Wallace Murley in Tippah County, MS. He was a Self Employed Carpenter and attended the Community Baptist Church. EJ was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. His specialty was Automatic Rifleman. He fought in Normandy, Northern France. He was given the European African Middle Eastern Champaign Medal and Purple Heart. He was survived by one daughter: Karon Lee Tidwell (Jimmy) of Olive Branch, MS; two brothers: Harold Murley, Archie Murley both of Baldwyn, MS; two sisters: Linda Bishop of Baldwyn, MS, Hazel Huneycutt of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren: Jason Tidwell (Stacey), Amber Tidwell (Bryan), Josh Tidwell (Kaysi), Scotty McClure (Felicia); seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Annie Ruth Bryan Murley; his parents; one daughter: Sherry Ann McClure; four brothers; three sisters. Officiating will be Bro. Rick Griffin. Pallbearers will be: Jason Tidwell, Josh Tidwell, Scotty McClure, Jackson Tidwell, Austin Edwards, Storme Porter. Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Bryan, David Hubbard. There will be Full Military Honors at his service.
