Vince Jordan

Mr. Vince Jordan passed away on March 21, 2026, at his home in Dumas, Mississippi, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 63 years old. Vince was born on October 18, 1962, in Memphis, TN, to Joseph Rayburn Jordan and Nora Frances Collier Jordan. Vince was a proud graduate of Ripley High School, Class of 1982. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 1986, later continuing his education at the University of Mississippi, where he received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Vince dedicated his life to education and to the young people he mentored along the way. He served as a coach at both Tishomingo County High School and Ripley High School, where he inspired countless student-athletes. In recognition of his impact, he was named Class 3A Coach of the Year in 1992. He later transitioned into administration, serving as assistant principal at South Pontotoc High School and principal at Myrtle Attendance Center. At the time of his passing, he was serving as Principal at Mill Creek in Pontotoc. Throughout his career, Vince touched the lives of many—students, athletes, colleagues, and friends—leaving behind a lasting legacy of dedication, leadership, and care. Vince was also honored and humbled to be an elder at Ripley Presbyterian Church. Above all, Vince was a devoted family man. He shared 38 loving years of marriage with his wife, Paula Criswell Jordan. He was a proud and loving father, a cherished grandfather known as “Poppy,” and a loyal friend to many. A passionate sports enthusiast, Vince especially loved college athletics and enjoyed following teams across the SEC. His heart, however, always belonged to the Mississippi State Bulldogs. In honor of his love for SEC sports, those attending services are invited to wear their favorite school colors. Vince is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Rayburn Jordan and Nora Frances Collier Jordan; and his in-laws, Herbert C. Criswell, and Joyce Woolsey Criswell. Service officiated by Rev. Dr. Jody Hill Vince is survived by his wife Paula Criswell Jordan of Ripley, MS; his son Justin Jordan (Breanna) of Ripley, MS; his daughter Jenna Jordan Hopper (Austin) of Ripley, MS; his brothers Greg Jordan (Betty) of Brandon, MS, and David Jordan (Leslie) of Madison, MS; his sister Debbie Flake (Ricky) of Ripley, MS; his grandchildren Autumn Mayes, Reice Mayes, Elizabeth Jordan, Jerzey Cate Jordan, Brooks Hopper, Tatum Hopper, and Vivi Hopper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
