Rhonda Kay Brown

Rhonda Kay Brown, 59 years old, passed away on January 4, 2026, at 8:42 p.m., surrounded by family and friends in her home in Walnut, MS. She was born on October 1, 1966, at Ripley Hospital to parents Wanda Brown and the late David Brown. Rhonda was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. She was a 1985 graduate of Walnut High School. After graduation, she worked in the local sewing factories. Once she married and started a family, she chose to stay home with her children and babysit for the public. Once her children were in school, she soon went to work in the Walnut School cafeteria. She loved her school kids and always enjoyed talking with them and being able to be with her own children. After her time at Walnut, she once again babysat. She loved taking care of her babies. Rhonda is preceded in death by her father and both her maternal and paternal grandparents. Rhonda is survived by her mother, Wanda Brown, 2 daughters, Kayrah Northcott (Dylan), Kenni Ann Wright, and 1 son, Kainon Wright. Rhonda’s greatest pleasure was being “Brownie” to her 2 precious grandchildren, Paisley Mae and James Deren Northcott, all of Walnut, MS. She also leaves siblings, Terry Jo Herring(Jerry), Cheryl Brown, and Andy Brown (Sandra), 6 nieces, Ashley Champion, Emily Camburn, Cassidy Hopper (Chandler), Sydney Brooks(James), Whitleigh Miller, and Addison Wright, 7 nephews, Jeremy Herring, Andrew Brown, Luke Brown, Zack Roberson (Karley Matthew), Blake Wright, Parker Brown, and Colt Miller. Sister-in-Love, Teresa Franz Brown. Rhonda also leaves special friends: Mrs. Irene Rainey, Teresa McKenzie, Theresa Martindale, Terry Porterfield, Deborah Gray, Jennifer Hopper, LeAnn Martindale, Michelle Gordon, Leah Lyles, Lis Wildman, Mike Franz, Alan Wilbanks, and members of the WHS Class of 1985. Officiating will be Brother Clay Hall, Brother Robert Buse, and Brother Steve McKee. Pallbearers will be: Zayne Martindale, Hoyt Martindale, Timmy Hopper, Newt Hopper, Joseph Martindale, James Delbert Wilbanks, Donnie Glissen, and Eli Glissen Honorary Pallbearers will be her 15 great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank each family member and special friends, nurses and staff of The West Clinic in Corinth, MS, and Arden Hospice who have walked this journey with her.
