Johnnie Mae Brown Clemmer

Johnnie Mae Brown Clemmer, 81, of Walnut, entered her Heavenly home on July 25, 2026, surrounded by her children and the love of her family. Johnnie was born February 15, 1945, in Benton County Mississippi, to Ceffice and Wardie Brown. She was a graduate of Walnut High School. On June 28, 1974, she married her love, Jimmy Clemmer. Jimmy preceded her in death in 1996. After nearly 30 years apart, they are finally reunited eternally. Throughout her working life, Johnnie worked in several factories, including Reed Manufacturing/TIPCO in Walnut. She and Jimmy also owned and operated several small businesses over the years. Later, she managed a number of retail stores before retiring. Johnnie was known for her calm and contented spirit, her remarkable independence, and, above all, her love for her family. She was a selfless caregiver, lovingly caring for her parents, her mother and father-in-law, and her husband during their final days. She rarely complained about anything. Even in her final hours, when those around her knew she was nearing the end of her earthly journey, she continued to reassure everyone that she was “fine.” She found joy in the simple things of life. She loved flowers, watching Perry Mason and Murder, She Wrote, and working a good Seek-a-Word puzzle. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing with Jimmy, and she loved spending time at auctions and yard sales with her niece and close friend, Mary. She was also known for the delicious chocolate pies, banana pudding, and chicken-and-dressing she lovingly prepared for her family. Johnnie was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Walnut. She professed Jesus Christ as her Savior, and her family takes great comfort in the blessed hope and assurance that, because of her faith in Him, this separation is only temporary. They look forward with joy to the day they will see her again. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ceffice and Wardie Childers Brown; her husband, Jimmy Clemmer; her son, Jimmy Lavon Clemmer; and her brother, Mitchell Brown. She leaves behind her children, Tracy Luna (Jerry) of Walnut, Joey Manley (Jennifer) of Blue Mountain, and Amanda Dollar (Ted) of Tiplersville; her grandchildren, Johnathan Voyles (Robin), Jenny Luna Wilbanks (Jim), Jeremy Luna (Brandy), Emily Manley Whitten (Logan), William Manley, Elizabeth Dollar Caldwell (Jacob), Wyatt Dollar, and Asa Dollar; eight great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Lee Hodge of Pocahontas, Tennessee; Stanley Brown of Corinth, Mississippi; Judie Davis (Buddy) of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; Marshall Brown of Blue Mountain, Mississippi; Jackie Brown of Middleton, Tennessee, and special sister-in-law Carolyn “Tinkie” Brown of Blue Mountain, Mississippi. She leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, faithful love, selfless service, and devotion to her family. Though her family will deeply miss her presence, her gentle spirit, her strength, and the simple assurance that she was always “fine,” they are comforted knowing that she is now home—whole, at peace, and with Jesus and the husband she loved.
